3	There is boxing, netball, swimming, gymnastic, Shooting, weightlifting, rugby, cycling, running and baseball
4	It is also called Glasgow
5	different countries compete

1	Glasgow 2014 will be the biggest sporting and cultural event to happen in Scotland in a generation.
2	Glasgow was chosen as Host City for the Games by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) in 2007
3	The first Commonwealth Games took place in Hamilton, Canada in 1930.
4	Four hundred athletes from eleven countries competed over 6 sports and 59 events
5	– The Games were originally called the British Empire Games.
6	There were no Games in 1942 and 1946 due to World War II and its economic aftermath.
7	Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales have attended every Games.
8	Scotland hosted the Games in 1970 and 1986.
9	In 2000 the CGF created the Commonwealth Youth Games.
10	Today the Commonwealth is home to just under 1/3 of the global population.
