Sound: What can I hear

Sound is important for or environment. Without sound it is not safe. What if you could not hear and your fire alarm goes off you would not hear it and you could get burnt. Without sound you could cross a road and get hit by a car. So sound help everyone.

When at home you might hear your brother sister dad or mum could be playing a game or watching a movie so you might join in that is sound. At school you can hear the kids in your class talking and tapping. Outside you can hear people chatting and kicking balls.

You can hear cars whizzing past the road so you know when to cross the road safely. Most People do not like to listen to their brothers or sisters fighting. You might hear the tap turning on and off that might be annoying. Not being able to hear must be boring and weird because sound makes the world a much better place.

Term 1 Reflection 2014

My highlight of this term is getting new friends like Neo, James, Kyal and Zion.

I have made progress in making movies and adding details in my drawings.

I know this because my drawings are looking more realistic then it was last year. This makes my movies look better.

I still need to work harder to improve my handwriting at home. I also need to get better at writing.

I know this because my mom can not understand my handwriting. My writing needs to make more sense.

I am most proud of my efforts to write faster and better.

My 3 main goals for Term 2 will be...

Main Goal 1. My goal is to sleep more and have a proper breakfast each day.

Main Goal 2. My goal is to concentrate on the work that I am told to do.

Main Goal 3. My goal is to stay calm and listen to the teacher.

Shark attack

Once upon a time there lived a man named Bob. He was so rich that he could have anything he wanted. He lived in a castle next to a very clean lake. He lived with his twins Steven and Connor. His wife had been dead for 2 years because of the birth of the twins.

One day the family went out fishing in their luxury boat. As soon as they put their line out, the fish were already biting. They pulled their lines up and put more bait on. Out of the blue, Stevens hand started to bleed. The boat started to shake and fish were swimming away. Suddenly a shark jumped over the boats and just missed Connor.

The twins were shaking with fear. Bob went inside the boat and grabbed a machete saying “I knew it was a good idea to bring this.” Bob came out of the boat and waited for the next shark. Another shark came and Bob cut it in half. Then two more sharks come and Bob cuts them both in half.

“Okay, this trip is officially over” said Bob walking to the steering wheel. So they motored over back to their house. As soon as they got to their house they had something to eat. For their dinner they had the shark that was left on the boat.

Six Sentence Story

Once upon a time there lived a man named Bob. He lived in a bush. He has a very creepy talent that he can bend his finger back and make it touch his wrist. He is very poor and has only one pair of clothing. Bob felt very sad and lonely. Bob was not happy being poor and lonely so he got a job and he became very rich and when he was rich he gave poor people one thousand dollars each.

Cyclone lusi

P1:

A cyclone is a giant storm that hits certain areas of the world. In the weekend Cyclone Lusi hit the North Island of New Zealand at midday. There were strong gales blowing across the North Island. Heavy winds were blowing little objects around. A cyclone can sometimes end up as tornados or thunderstorms.

P2:

During a cyclone there are hundreds of floods if you are next to the sea or if it is raining heavily. There are lots of land slips on mountains or cliffs. Humongous waves crash against the beach or waterfront.  It is dangerous to be near water. Houses are usually damaged by collapsing trees.

P3:

The weather in the weekend was atrocious. Lots of dark clouds and heavy rain could be seen. Crashing waves were seen down at the beach when in low tide time.

P4:

It could've been possible that the cyclone could've spun cars in the air and made tornado. There could've been power cuts in many regions. The schools could've been destroyed and some people could've died. Lots of people could have died while driving their cars if they had spun out of control on wet roads.

P5:

To prepare for a cyclone you should secure objects outside encase they fly around. Keep your pets safe and keep yourself safe. Keep communication with your family to keep safe and know who is alive. Keep a torch or a candle for light so you know where you are going so you don't trip or injure yourself.

FIA FIA

Collecting the rushing kids while listening to the drumming is a lot of fun. Fia Fia is here!

Quickly getting the Junior kids to their group while I still had to go to my own made me feel rushed. On my way to my group I could hear music from the Bollywood group.

Finally at my group, we watched videos of marching and walking with style. Suddenly Kya started getting annoying by talking too much. She needs to learn some manners.  Practising our moves for Fia Fia tires my arms and legs. The name of my group is precisely that.

We practice precision moves when we all act at the same time. We have to make a wave of arms and then a wave of bobbing heads.  This is funny because one of our teachers is Mr Barks and he is funny.

Time ending going to the cook island drumming group to pick up the little kids and drop them off to their classroom. I have to keep on stopping for the kids to catch up. Dropping them of is hard but at least the day is almost complete.
