Future Aspiration

Today we heard from Marcus Winter and Louis Gordon-Latty. they were introduced by a special being Andrew Patterson.

It was very interesting what we had saw. What I liked the most was when Marcus showed us a video of some of his work that he has done and how he got to where he is in his career.

He showed us that he was not really smart when he was a kid and then he showed us his primary report and he had on it that he slow to the max at writing. So he got put into a class which he thought was the extension group for the smart kids but he was put in one for the kids who needed help with his learning.

It was kinda sad but then he told us that he learnt how to write fast and after that when his class got tested he got the best grammar score in his entire class and I found that very interesting

Mr Wise man’s question:What stood out for me. The thing that stood up for me is the quote that Andrew said “People may forget what you said, People may forget what you did, But they will never forget how you made them feel.

Netbook Reflection 2013

What I like about learning with a Netbook? I like having free time, you can do more things & its easy to write. What frustrates me ? I can’t do things that some other can & other people sometimes hack into my Netbook and change my font. What would make it better? If I had Mac.
How does school compare now VS before I had a Netbook? Quite well because it gives the kids easy work so you don't have to make a big mess because the computer automatic makes it tidy . How could we use our Netbooks better? If it came with a I pad.

Swimming

Early in the morning  a mixed class went for swimming. We got changed of course then Mr Somerville lead us to the pool. Once we got in the pool it was cold, after a little while the pool warmed up.


We get free time for 15 minutes. It was wavy the water. The ladder steps were a bit cold but I can stand it. There was a lot water screaming so that made it hard to listen to Mr Somerville.


Mr Somerville threw a tennis ball into the pool. Who ever gets up to 11 points is able to make something up for the other team to do outside of the pool. The girls won lots of games until the boys won once . We had to get changed into our school uniform.

Jackson Pollock

Jackson pollock is a famous artist. In 1945, he married the artist Lee Krasner, who became an very important artist. On August 11 1956 Jackson pollock died in a car crash.

Rm15 went outside for art. We copied Jackson Pollock's style. When we were panting we did not touch the paper we flicked  the paint and it splattered on the paper. I used red ,blue  and yellow, the colors mixed together when they touched.

Eric blindfold

Henry and Texas went first for the course . They made it look hard. When it was my tern I saw nothing at all because we where blindfolded so it was hard.We had to go balance on a plank. Then we had to go over the skipping ropes. Under the mat on the mattresses on the stage and jump on a big blue mat.I wonted to have another tern but I cud not. It was time to go and have lunch.I had fun.

Adding Detail to Sentences

Our class learnt how to add detail to phrases. we started adding detail to the beginning of the phrase "invented the spaceship". We then had to add more detail to the end of that sentence.

Here are the sentences I wrote.

Bully

The fuzzy feeling grew as the bully got closer. Facing my fear, I summoned all my courage. “You wond’t get me this time”

I wonder why he always wants to get me? As he walked closer, I prayed that he woulld leaveme alone this time.I was facing my greatest fear.


Summoning all my couruge, I tried to catch my breath. Screaming silently in My head, I didn’t feel so brave. How could I defend myself against the big bully.

Rube Goldberg

On Friday the 6th of may room 13 made a marble tracks. My grop never gave up but onlee Brandon gave up. We fienle finished doing our Rube Goldberb.

North shores Tornado

Yesterday there was a Tornado in the north shore.A destructive and powerful hot and cold air pattern caused this Tornado. It stuck around 3pm. Some cars were sucked up by the Tornado. From all that it ripped off the sides of peoples houses and it killed 1 man or a women.
The Tornado caused massive damage. It ripped roofs of houses ,and it tipped cars upside down. All most everyone felt terrified

Staw Towers

Room thirteen had some very good ideas of building straw towers. We were doing this because Miss King wants to see what we can do what we can what ather kids did.Some of the straw builders made their straw towers like houses. The whole classroom used Materias like straws & tape. We were trying to make the biggest tower.

The glee preformens

On Friday the glee crew inpressed the school with the topic the Pt England way. The 2nd preformance was Lepa he made up a rap about the Pt England way.All of the music was very loud and all of that noise almost made me deaf.

On one late night a meteor was heard in a area in New Zealand called Raglan. A blue and white light sparkled down to earth. The people reported that it was the size of a desk.
