A time something went missing

Last term I went swimming with my friend Shaitarn in the weekend. I had to go to his house to pick him up first. After he grabbed his swimming togs he got the scooter from the back yard so I would not have to walk far with my moon-boot as he walked down to the pools I scooted from his place, and it was not very far.

As soon as we arrived we had to sign in first.Before we were allowed to enter the pool area. After we signed in we walked to the changing room to get changed it did not take long.

After we got change we put our bags near the lockers and hoped into the pool. It was cold at first but then our body got used to it and then it felt warm. We swam around for a bit then my watch started to irritate me. I hopped out of the pool and took off my watch and put it next to my bag.

We continued swimming until 4:15 which was the time that shaitarn's mum told us to come back because I was also staying the night. I picked up my bag and forgot about my watch. When I got changed I remembered and went to go and get it but it wasn't there. I told Shaitarn that it was missing so he started to help me look for it but no luck I thought someone had stolen it.

I gave up and walked to the reception and asked if someone had brought it there and luckily for me someone had given it to the lady she gave it to me. I was relieved that someone had brought it to her instead of stealing it.

TiriTiri Matangi island (Trip)

In the morning I came to school 7:30 am so I can be at school in time for a very important trip for our extension class. First we waited for some more kids to come and collect their dry bags so they can put their lunch boxes in them and anything that they don’t want to get wet. We were also given a water bottle. After a little while a lady called Vanessa came into the room and then she told us her name and that she was working for D.O.C (Department of conservation)

After that we went outside to go inside of our shuttle bus. We waited a little longer to see if anyone else was coming it was 8 o'clock so we left to catch the ferry. It took a little while to get from school to the ferry port in the city but eventually we got there.

As soon as got to the port we were greeted by more people from D.O.C. Everyone sang a little song then we went for the ferry. Before we were aloud to go on the ferry we had to check that there no unwanted pest catching a ride with us. Then we had brush out shoes to get all of the unwanted dirt or weed seeds out from under our shoes. After that we were free to hop on the ferry and enjoy the ride.

We had to make one stop before we got to the island. Lots of us got bored so we started playing games like sore makalo and many others. It was a fun ride. After a little while we were there and it was an amazing sight from all of the nature that we saw.

We got of the ferry and sat down and listened to some rules that the ranger told us. Then he introduced the tour guides and told s who was with what group. We had Colleen who was very interesting. So first we went and saw some amazing creatures called the blue penguin. They were very small and very cute.

After the penguins we went to to the tour. The first thing that we saw was the kingfisher bird’s nest. Instead of a nest made by sticks and twigs and all of the usual stuff there nest was a hole in a cliff. So the way they make there nest is by using the hard neck and beak by flying away from the cliff then turning around and going full speed at the cliff which makes a small hole then the bird repeats it to make the hole big enough so it can dig the rest of the way and instead of having the nest sloping down they make there nest sloping up so when it rains the water does not go it the nest and make the eggs die.

So we went on and saw many other birds like the Red Crowned Parakeet, the Morepork, the Bell Bird and many more. It was very interesting for a lot of us. After the tour we had lunch which was very delicious.

We went to the lighthouse after that. We saw two Takahe walking around. One of them sounded like it was crying.

We also had a look around the lighthouse. We went back  to where we had our lunch. Another lady came and talked about plastic and pest’s. After the talk we had a treasure hunt which was fun. After that we had to get ready to go back to the ferry and go back home to school.

Future Aspiration

Today we heard from Marcus Winter and Louis Gordon-Latty. they were introduced by a special being Andrew Patterson.

It was very interesting what we had saw. What I liked the most was when Marcus showed us a video of some of his work that he has done and how he got to where he is in his career.

He showed us that he was not really smart when he was a kid and then he showed us his primary report and he had on it that he slow to the max at writing. So he got put into a class which he thought was the extension group for the smart kids but he was put in one for the kids who needed help with his learning.

It was kinda sad but then he told us that he learnt how to write fast and after that when his class got tested he got the best grammar score in his entire class and I found that very interesting

Mr Wise man’s question:What stood out for me. The thing that stood up for me is the quote that Andrew said “People may forget what you said, People may forget what you did, But they will never forget how you made them feel.

Video-Conference With Hawaii

Today in the year 7&8 extension group we had a video conference with two schools in Hawaii. There translation of hello is Aloha.

One of the schools name was Kea'au and the other school was Nanakuli. We all talked about our community and our culture. We also talk about our schools.

There many interesting facts about their schools. Kea'au elementary school had a video and Nanakuli elementary school had an presentation. Here is some of their info.

The video conference was very interesting to me and us all of the year 7&8 extension group of 2015. As you can see in the images that there are many volcanoes in the island of Hawaii. 

The hole meaning of the conference is because of the waka Hokulea. Witch is coming to our beach Pt England reserve. They are already in new Zealand but they are going to go o there waka and land on the Pt England reserve

In the holidays

In the holidays I went to my grandparents beach house for Christmas. Me and my family was there for three days, it was awesome because while my uncle was kayaking  I saw a herd of killer whales. For  dinner we had a nice turkey instead of having on the Christmas night.

Christmas morning.

In the morning I awakened and walked out of my tent and went straight inside to see if I can open a Christmas present. I was only aloud to open my present from my nana. My present was a book all about me, my brothers got one too.

My last day at the beach.

It was the last day with my Nana. It was fun there but my Dad got sick and so did I. The packing was easy but leaving was not because me and my brothers was sick the whole way through. Finally in Auckland not that hated the beach it was the ride I did not like.

2013 Netbook Reflection

What I like about learning with a Netbook? I like having free time, you can do more things & its easy  to write. What frustrates me ? I can’t do things that some other can & other people sometimes hack into my netbook and change my password. What would make it better? If i had a better version. How does school compare now vs before I had a Netbook? Quite well because it gives the kids easywork. How could we use our Netbooks? Try not to go off task because it is easy.

Hunted Barn

Once upon a time there lived a man named Stewie who lived in a place where animals lived.

They all were loud there was Sheep, Cows, Chicken and Pigs suddenly there was silence. Then the farmer Stewie heard a whisper in the middle of the night saying “STEWIE STEWIE COME TO ME.” It sounded like his dead wife then he heard it again but this time it sounded like she was getting angry “STEWIE STEWIE COME TO ME STEWIE.” Then Stewie Ended up saying “How am I supposed to go to you my wife you are dead in my basement.” Then suddenly he went to his basement. He opened the door to his basement and a bat flu past he got inside with a flash light then the door slammed shut and locked itself he turned on his torch then he noticed that his wife was not there then he saw a something swooped past and made Stewie jump then he said softly “Who is there can you show yourself.” Suddenly his wife slowly appeared and said “WHY WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME WHY?” “What do do you mean my love” he replied “put me down here like you did not care about me you didn't even care a bit to do a funeral for me, now you are going to pay the consequence by living the rest of your miserable life down here with me!.”

In the first week of the holidays I help my dad with his trimaran. Before the boat got out of the water a kayak smashed a hole in one of the pontoons. My dad had to nail a piece of wood to the pontoon.

I help my dad paint that pontoon and paint a table bored.  After me and my brother finished the bored a bird pooped on it before we put on the boat.

In the second week I went to a holiday program called LifeKidz I can’t tell you what I did because I can’t remember.

Saturday/Sunday  I went to my friend’s house. His name is Brayden. It was brayden’s mum’s birthday. We played a card game that I forgot the name. We played the card game for the most of the time then we played on the tramp. then we played cheat tag.

My holidays was so fun.

Free Blog Writing

One Sunny day Me and my friends Nikki, Lee, My Dad, Mr Marks, Anthony and  Sione went to go fishing. On the way we had to buy some food and some bait. It was a long drive.

When we got there, I saw someone hacking into my boat. I shouted “Hey get out of my boat!” He turned on the boat engine and speed  off. “Aww man” I said.

Anthony brought his sleep gun and shoot him in the bottom I had my phone with me and called the police. We speed off to get my boat .

Finally we caught them and I hopped off the police boat and hopped on my own boat. I turned around and went to pick up my friends. We had a good time and we caught lots of fish and we all said “this was a good idea

after all”.

The 2nd week of the holiday Me lee, nikki christian and a lot more of christian casians went to spookers for christian’s  11th birthday. it was a long drive but it was worth it. On the way there christian was thinking about what there was going to do and what the place looked like. Once we got there it was cooler than we thought it would be.

The hare and the tortoise

My name Fazy because it rhymes with lazy. I’m always eating grass slowly. I am a hibernator.

Just as usually, eating grass all day long as well I  just got out of hibernating. This Hare called Lighting was signing signatures . He is like his brother Speedy. Lighting comes along and makes trouble with me, I don't know what's his problem is.

A fox called Eric comes from the bushes and sticks up for me. I just kept eating while Eric becomes this know  it all. He told Lighting that I will win in a race but I thought I had no chance. Then Eric said “Did you know that he is a hibernator” Eric said “that means he is so lazy” Lighting said  “NOOO that means he sleeps

through the whole winter” Eric replied angrily.

Then Lighting ask “ok  then why won’t we have a race to the forest and back.” Then Eric said “ok  then if Fazy wins you and your slowly group work for him.”  “And if I the fastest animal win you have to do what I say.” “Then it will be tomorrow at quarter past 1.”

The race day has finally come I thought to myself. Fazy was stretching his legs and then Eric said "On you're mark......Get set.....GO!!!!!!." They started the race. Then Fazy slowly took off  and Lighting was just standing there laughing at Fazy. “You stupid Tortoise you will never defeat me,” said Lighting. “We'll see about that” Fazy said in a crazy way.

As far as I can see Lighting was started to sleep under a tree. I said to myself “This is my chance.”  I could feel some sort of power then my legs started to speed up I was going as fast as a 21 year old  Tortoise. I was on a roll. As soon as the Hare woke up the sun was almost down and no one was around. But Fazy Eric and Lighting's friends. "How are you finished Fazy" said Lighting.

One Weird Day

One Weird Day!

Once upon a time in Russia there lived a man entirely made out of marshmallows.  Nobody really knew his name so they just called him Marshmallow guy.  He was white and fluffy and whenever he walked past you could feel your mouth watering and could smell the sugar in the air.  His life was a living hell because everyone grabbed at him trying to take bits of his marshmallow arm sweetness off him.  He ended up having to wear a sumo wrestler disguise to cover all of his sweetness so nobody knew he was made out of marshmallow.

Actually, he wasn't the only man made out of marshmallow.  On the other side of the world, in America, lived another man entirely made out of marshmallows as well, only he had a name.  It was Steven Notch Mush.  He had a dog named Danger.  Danger was covered in rippling muscles and he had terribly sharp teeth.  He had a black spiked collar and whenever you saw those spikes, his sharp teeth and his big muscles you knew he was dangerous.  Danger had a rare talent.  He could drive any kind of automatic car without crashing.  He once tried to drive a manual car but he crashed that one because he couldn't reach the clutch.

So one day Steven Notch Mush won the American Lotto.  He won the Big Wednesday!  He won $13 million plus all the prizes, which included the boat, two houses, a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster and the latest Jeep 4-wheel drive.  Steven gave the Lamborghini to his dog Danger.  Danger was thrilled.

Meanwhile the no-named Marshmallow guy from Russia saw Steven win the lotto on the news and thought they could be related.  He saved up all his money from being a computer programmer.  If you think about it, he needed a job inside so people wouldn't try to eat him.  With his savings he bought a ticket to America to surprise Steven, because he didn't actually know him, but he wanted to meet him.

Once Marshmallow guy got to America he took a little tour around Hollywood and coincidentally found himself outside Steven Notch Mush’s house.  He knew it was his house because he saw a dog driving a car around the area.

The house had a huge gate so he rang the intercom system on the big gate.  It had a little camera so that Steven could see him.  Steven was very very surprised that he was not the only marshmallow person.  Steven said “I can’t believe you are also a marshmallow guy, come inside for a hot chocolate and we will have a chat”.  Marshmallow guy heard a bark and wondered what that was.  He felt butterflies in his stomach.

When Marshmallow guy came inside, he saw Steve covered in diamond rings and wearing a really expensive watch.  He smiled in a friendly way but it looked a little bit dodgy.  Danger walked into the room.  He was wearing a special collar that interpreted his barks for words.  Danger said “pleased to meet you, would you like a hot chocolate?”  Marshmallow guy said “thank you, that would be nice”.  Marshmallow guy was very excited to be finally meeting his relative. 

Danger came back with a hot chocolate and spilt it all over Marshmallow guy.  The drink was very hot and it hurt a lot and Marshmallow guy started to melt.  Danger and Steven started chuckling and enjoyed their new supper.

Highlight about school

My Highlight about school is MINECRAFT

The 3rd week of school I have downloaded a game named MINECRAFT. It is a crafting as well as well as mining for Gold Ore Emerald Ore Iron Ore Redstone Ore Lopez Ore and there is lot more. I like MINECRAFT because you do more than mining or crafting you can build houses Mansion’s and you can get mods and texture pack’s this is a picture of my first texture pack

Last night, me and my buddy Vaifoa went to the library and played this awesome game called Minecraft. Minecraft is a type of game that lets you built a house and something that you would like to do. That’s why in the beginning of the game name which is MINE! It is produced as mining. Minecraft is a fun game to play and it helps me build things when I grow up. As I ran out of blocks  I started rushing over to Eric’s Minecraft house and borrowed some of his building blocks. So then I could build something really high.

At first I looked around I saw an amazing house right next to me It was covered with golden blocks and shiny diamonds  . So I went to check it out. First I went through the door and he showed his building. Then I saw a farm on the side of the outside door and fed some of his animals.

It was getting too late. So I went off to my building and got to bed. The next morning in Minecraft I started building again till I was done. First Vaifoa built a water fall going down from my house and and built a flower garden outside. It was so amazing!!! I was Really enjoying playing that game. It was time to go home so I was saying good bye.

Te Reo Maori Competition

Our school is holding a te Reo Maori competition. The rules are simple, Your DLO should be no longer than two minutes. You will need to plan thoroughly and write a complete script and storyboard.
